Pubs, restaurants and cafes have been allowed to reopen under the second stage of England’s lockdown roadmap.
This means from today punters can once again enjoy a pint in their local, as long as they are prepared to do so in a (possibly quite chilly) beer garden or terrace.
Other rules changes since pubs were last open in December, have scrapped the requirement to order a “significant meal” with a drink. There’s also no longer a 22:00 curfew. Happy days.
To help stop the spread of covid during this reopening period, guidance for hospitality says pubs should:
- Use social distancing markings
- Provide disposable sauce sachets
- Install plastic screens between tables or at tills
- Encourage contactless payments
So please be aware of the rules and enjoy a pint in the safest way possible, while supporting your local pub.
Pubs in Wales and Scotland are set to open on the 26th April.
